Places to meditate before you die.
We all recognize the Sphinx. See that stone between his paws? This is one of many such stones located around the world in places of power. See the one on the left? That is the “navel of the world” located on the ancient site of Pythias where the Oracle of Delphi was located. See the one on the right? That is located at Machu Picchu in Peru. There are others just like them. One in Jerusalem in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher another on Easter Island and yet another in a Buddhist Temple in Nepal and in County Westmeath, Ireland.
All in ancient places reputed to be places of power and of religious significance. Often they out date their surrounding structures by hundreds or thousands of years. Nobody knows where they come from or what they represent. Interestingly, they are not magnificent or showy even though they may be surrounded by great temples. They are just simple stones.
